State Support Network Technical Assistance Summary Report

The State Support Network is a four-year technical assistance initiative of the U.S. Department of Education (ED) Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) designed to support state and district school improvement efforts. The Network provides a variety of technical assistance services and resources to states and districts, ranging from customized support to individual states and districts to universal approaches (convenings and publications) aimed to support all OESE grantees.

The Technical Assistance Summary Report describes the activities and resources provided by the Network from May 2016 through May 2018. The report summarizes data regarding the quality, relevance, application and impact of Network services, and describes the partnerships involved in delivering technical assistance. The report focuses on the three types of technical assistance that comprised the majority of Network activities in 2016–18: communities of practice, peer-to-peer exchanges, and individualized technical assistance.
